Make it six- Franklin flips Amani Oruwariye
Amani Oruwariye has committed to Penn State, according to recruiting web sites Scout, 24-7 and Rivals. A 6-1, 185-pound defensive back from Tampa, Fla., he was originally committed to Vanderbilt.
The addition of Oruwariye means that James Franklin has now flipped six of his Vanderbilt recruits to Penn State during his three weeks on the job. The other five are offensive lineman Chance Sorrell, athlete Trace McSorley, defensive back Grant Haley, defensive end Lloyd Tubman and offensive lineman Brendan Brosnan.
Oruwariye is Penn State's 24th commitment in this recruiting class. The Nittany Lions can give 20 scholarships, and five of those 24 count toward the previous year because of early enrollees. Penn State can still get one more player for its class should everyone remain committed and sign next week on National Signing Day.
Who could that player be?
Well, Franklin and his staff have been all over the country, according to their Twitter accounts. Yesterday, Franklin was in Tucson, Ariz., and Los Angeles.
