No punishment for Bortuzzo

Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo will not face a suspension for his hit on Toronto's Jerry D'Amico tonight, the NHL announced.

Bortuzzo was assessed a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head at 10:19 of the third period in the Penguins' 3-1 victory at Consol Energy Center.

Another Penguins defenseman, Deryk Engelland, faces an in-person hearing with Brendan Shanahan, who handles supplemental discipline for the league, Wednesday because of a head shot he delivered to Detroit's Justin Abdelkader during the Penguins' 4-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena last Saturday.

That type of hearing means Engelland could -- but won't necessarily -- receive a suspension of six or more games.
