Game-day skate update--Jan. 10

Shelly Anderson 10 years ago

The Penguins held a full game-day skate at Rexall Place, following an optional skate for tonight's opponent, the Edmonton Oilers. Both goalies and 15 skaters were on the ice for Edmonton.

No one was miss from the Penguins skate, and there didn't appear to be any changes in how personnel was used. Deryk Engelland remains at winger rather than defense, except when penalty-killing.

The lines:

Chris Kunitz-Sidney Crosby-Brian Gibbons

Jussi Jokinen-Evgeni Malkin-James Neal

Tanner Glass-Brandon Sutter-Taylor Pyatt

Craig Adams-Joe Vitale-Deryk Engelland.

(Zach Sill)

The top power-play unit had Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin on the points with forwards Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz and James Neal. The No. 2 unit had Matt Niskanen and Olli Maatta on the points, with forwards Brandon Sutter, Jussi Jokinen and Brian Gibbons.
