Penguins sign prospect

The Penguins signed forward Bryan Rust, a third-round draft choice in 2010, to a two-year entry-level contract.

The deal takes effect in the 2014-15 season.

Rust, 21, spent the past four seasons with Notre, and had a career-high 17 goals, along with 16 assists, during his senior season

He is 6 foot, 191 pounds and put up 43 goals and 54 assists in 161 career games with the Fighting Irish.
