By Seth Rorabaugh 9 years ago

Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was selected as an injury replacement for the NHL's upcoming All-Star Game.

Fleury, who has a league-leading six shutouts this season, was selected after Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard (groin) and Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne (knee) suffered injuries. New York Islanders goaltender Jaroslav Halak was also selected as an injury replacement.

In 34 games this season, Fleury has a 22-7-4 record with a 2.16 goals against average and .926 save percentage. This is his second selection to an All-Star Game. He appeared in the 2011 contest. The only other Penguins goaltender to be selected for an All-Star Game was Michel Dion in 1982.

This season's game will be held in Columbus Jan. 25.
