With defenseman Christian Ehrhoff sidelined due to a potential concussion, the Penguins recalled defenseman Derrick Pouliot from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

Pouliot has played in eight NHL games this season and has three points (one goal, two assists).

Ehrhoff was injured during a 4-0 loss at Washington Wednesday when he collided with Capitals left winger Alex Ovechkin. He has undergone testing for a concussion. Ehrhoff did not participate in today's practice at Southpointe. Coach Mike Johnston did not have an update on his status.

Center Evgeni Malkin resumed practicing but said he would not be playing in Sunday's home game against the Nashville Predators. Malkin has been sidelined for four games due to a groin injury. He is expected to travel with the team on its Western Canada trip next week.

Center Andrew Ebbett was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. In 21 NHL games this season, he has six points (one goal, five assists).
