Dupuis injured, Erixon waived

Right winger Pascal Dupuis did not participate in the Penguins’ practice today in Cranberry. Head coach Mike Johnston said Dupuis was held out due to a minor undisclosed injury.

“At the end of the three-on-three [drill] when we were practicing today, he just left he ice with a slight injury,” Johnston said. “It was a monitored today. [Medical personnel] kept him off the ice. It was more precautionary. I don't think it was anything major but with all these things, you're very cautious at the beginning of the year just with anything happening. I expect over the next few days, we'll know a little bit more. He may even be back tomorrow.”

Defenseman Tim Erixon was placed on waivers. If he clears by noon Tuesday, he can be assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. NHL rosters must be set by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
