Minor league report - Penguins, Murray shut out Falcons, 5-0

Goaltender Matt Murray made 38 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (4-1-0-0) in a 5-0 road shutout of the Springfield Falcons Friday.

It was Murray’s first shutout of the season. He led the AHL with 12 shutouts last season.

Defenseman Derrick Pouliot netted a goal and two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while right winger Tom Kostopoulos, center Matia Marcantuoni and left winger Scott Wilson each added a goal and an assist.

The Penguins’ next game is at home against the Falcons Saturday 7:05 p.m.
