Minor league report - Simon leads Penguins past Falcons in overtime

An overtime goal and an assist by center Dominik Simon led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (5-1-0-0) to a 3-2 comeback home win against the Springfield Falcons Saturday.

Defenseman Steve Oleksy recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while right winger Tom Kuhnhackl and left winger Scott Wilson each scored goals. Goaltender Matt Murray made 33 saves in the victory.

The Penguins’ next game is Wednesday at home against the Binghamton Senators, 7:05 p.m.

Forward Derek Army had a goal and two assists for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-1 home win against the Brampton Beast.

Goaltender Franky Palazzese made 22 saves for Wheeling.
