Minor league report - Nailers win Game 7, advance to Kelly Cup final

Forwards John McCarron and Cody Wydo each had a goal and two assists for the Wheeling Nailers in a series-clinching 5-2 road win against the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference final of the Kelly Cup playoffs.

Forward Ty Loney had a goal and an assist for Wheeling while goaltender Brain Foster made 28 saves.

The Nailers advanced to the Kelly Cup final for the first time since 1993 when they were known as the Wheeling Thunderbirds. They will play the Allen (Texas) Americans.
