Bettis 'Recruits' Suh for Steelers

Good morning,

In light of the letter Jordan Leopold’s 10-year-old daughter wrote to the NHL’s Wild to successfully recruit her father back to Minnesota, ESPN decided to have three of its employees, former NFL players, “recruit” Detroit Lions soon-to-be free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh for their former teams.

Jerome Bettis made his pitch for the Steelers. The otehrs were Mark Brunell for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jeff Saturday for the Indianapolis Colts.

Here is the letter Bettis “wrote” to Suh, facetiously, of course:

Dear Mr. Suh,

I am writing this letter from the city of champions where I believe you can help resurrect the steel curtain and bring the next championship to Pittsburgh. I do understand that this is a three-four defense and that you are not necessarily a three-four Defensive Lineman, but you are a champion... I can see it inside of you and if you want the chance to bring that out and become a champion I believe Pittsburgh is the best fit.

We will be willing to make some adjustments to the three four defense to make you more of a pass rusher. We will put the pass rush around you and build the backend of the defense to support you. The offense will complement you and the crowd will adore you... This is my promise to you!

P.S. I can see letters after your name here in Pittsburgh!

Thank you.
