Skate update -- Nov. 22

Shelly Anderson 10 years ago

No one was missing from the Penguins' game-day skate and the lines were the same as they have been. Indications are that the lineup will be the same, too, against the New York Islanders at Consol Energy Center.

But there was something interesting. Kris Letang was working on the second power-play unit, while Paul Martin was the only defenseman on the top unit.We don't know if that's just something the Penguins were toying with or a demotion for Letang or even if that's the look we will see tonight.

Coach Dan Bylsma confirmed that, as we suspected, backup goaltender Jeff Zatkoff will start against the Islanders. No. 1 goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to start Saturday at Montreal and Monday at Boston. New York coach Jack Capuano confirmed that backup goalie Kevin Poulin will start tonight. No. 1 goaltender Evgeni Nabokov is hurt. Capuano also said that top-line winger Thomas Vanek will return from injury and play.

The lines:

Chris Kunitz-Sidney Crosby-Beau Bennett

Pascal Dupuis-Evgeni Malkin-James Neal

Jussi Jokinen-Brandon Sutter-Brian Gibbons

Tanner Glass-Joe Vitale-Craig Adams
