Minor league report - Wilson scores twice for Penguins in 5-3 loss to Phantoms

Left winger Scott Wilson scored two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (29-13-1-1) in a 5-3 home loss to the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms Saturday.

Defenseman Will O’Neill netted a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while left wingers Kael Mouillierat and Conor Sheary each recorded two assists. Goaltender Tristan Jarry made 30 saves in the defeat which was the Penguins’ third consecutive.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s next game is on the road Friday against the Springfield Falcons, 7 p.m.

Goaltender Casey DeSmith made 35 saves for the Wheeling Nailers (17-20-2-2) in a 4-3 shootout loss on the road to the Elmira Jackals.

Wheeling’s next game is Sunday on the road against the Brampton Beast, 2 p.m.
